Uses and Tips

  • Things you should be careful about:
  • 1. Use the gas table for cooking only. Do not dry towels, clothes etc. over it.
  • 2. Always use liquefied petroleum (LP) gas that comes in a cylinder that can be attached to the gas table.
  • 3. To connect the gas table to the cylinder, use standard good quality tubing only. Do not use a vinyl plastic tube, as this can be dangerous.
  • 4. Make sure that the rubber tube does not touch any part of the gas table or lie underneath it because it is susceptible to burst.
  • 5. Always check the rubber tube for any wear-and-tear to avoid gas leak and prevent danger.
  • 6. Avoid keeping inflammables near the gas table.
  • 7. When in use, do not touch the pan supports of the gas table to avoid burns.
  • 8. Never apply excessive pressure to the gas control knobs. Do not tamper with the knob.
  • 9. Clean the burners regularly so that they don’t get clogged. Do not use abrasive materials for cleaning.
  • 10. After the cooking is over, turn both the gas control knobs and the regulator off, e.g., when going to bed or leaving the house.
  • 11. If you trace gas leaking, close the gas regulator of the cylinder, open up all windows and call your gas supply agent. Do not switch on an electric light or light matches/lighter etc.
  • 12. The cylinder should not be tilted horizontally when in use.
  • 13. Make sure the gas table is in a position where no person needs to reach over the burner for things placed on the far side. This avoids the chance of getting burnt by the flame.
  • 14. Keep the gas table out of reach of children.
  • 15. Ensure that no appliances working on electricity or any other fuel are installed within a distance of 1metre from the LPG installation (gas table, tubing, regulator and cylinder).
  • 16 Do not drop any heavy objects on the glass surface as it may scratch/shatter the glass top.
