Goddess Kushmanda - The Goddess of Creation

Goddess Kushmanda is the 4th form of Maa Durga revered on the 4th day of Navratri. She is said to have created the universe with her radiant smile. Ku refers to “a little” and Ushma refers to “energy or warmth” and Anda refers to “cosmic egg”. She has the power to live inside the sun, to empower the sun to radiate energy and effulgence to the universe.

Modern Day Avatar

Who's she? She's Adishakti - the creator & architect of the entire universe.

She emblematizes the procreator of life, a mother - a woman who created civilizations and nurture life, rekindles hope, instils a feeling of faith & conviction and illuminates our lives in times of eternal darkness as she's the one who provides energy & direction to Sun God.

Who would, in your opinion, resembles the effulgent semblance of Goddess Kushmanda?

Well, she's the one your life revolves around. She's the one whom you call your world. Indeed, we all have one inamorata in our lives we share our universe with. So, she could be the one.

In essence, women of distinct spheres who created their own multiverse are real-life personification of Goddess Kushmanda. Today, we would like to talk about a few women entrepreneurs who built an empire out of a little investment and little support.

Jyoti Wadhwa - When her husband opted to change his profession, it became imperative for her to contribute financially. She began to sell vintage sarees on eBay and later listed on Amazon.com. With an initial and mere investment of Rs 50,000, her Sanskriti Vintage has now an annual turnover of around Rs 10 crore.

Vandana Luthra- The founder of beauty & wellness firm, VLCC, struggled in the initial days and subjected to social criticism but never ceased to live her dreams. In her own words, it took her six years to convince the need for health and fitness experts like a cosmetologist or a nutritionist. At present, VLCC is a billion-dollar institution serving in 11 countries across Asia, Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Though the modern-day situation is quite the opposite where women enjoy the freedom and have access & control over financial, human and intellectual resources in society, they once remained as passive beneficiaries. We wish to see more of women like Jyoti Wadhwa and Vandana Luthra clinching more accolades and name & fame in the society.
